Apothéke Alimentare was born from a simple belief: the more we understand food, the better we choose it.
Today, food is everywhere, yet we often know very little about where it comes from, who produces it or why one choice can be more meaningful than another. Apothéke was created to reconnect people with food through knowledge, culture and conscious choices. Inspired by the spirit of the traditional Italian bottega, it brings together carefully curated products, independent producers and stories worth understanding, creating a contemporary space where food becomes a way to learn, connect and rediscover its true value.
Our roots
Our story began in a small bottega in the heart of Noci, where a great-grandfather laid the foundations of lasting relationships around food. Those same values inspired Pietro Gigante to found Gigante Alimentari in 1955. For over seventy years, our family has worked alongside producers, bringing exceptional food to botteghe, restaurants, hotels and many of Puglia's finest masserie.
Today, Apothéke carries that heritage forward, creating a contemporary Italian bottega built on generations of food knowledge.
Looking ahead
Across the Itria Valley, Apothéke connects people with carefully curated Italian food. But our vision goes beyond the products themselves. Our ambition is to build a contemporary ecosystem where products, producers and knowledge come together to help people reconnect with what they eat.
Whether through seasonal selections, producer stories, educational content, curated experiences or events, every initiative shares the same purpose: to help people choose food with greater awareness. Because every conscious choice begins with understanding.

"I grew up in a family that has worked with food for generations. Working in the food industry, I kept noticing the same patterns: people called every sparkling wine Prosecco, asked for strawberries in January, and rarely stopped to wonder where food came from or why it mattered. That was the moment I realised how disconnected we had become from what we eat. Apothéke was born from the belief that choosing food should begin with understanding it.
